RECAP: A Night in the Wild w/ Sarah Jakes Roberts

I love a good Kingdom Word, a Word that not just makes me feel good in the moment, but a Word that transform my life and how I operate. I am blessed to get this weekly at my church home, Agape House of Worship International. So when it was announced there would be a Night in the Wild Tour with Sarah Jakes Roberts and Woman Evolve, I had to be there!

As promised, here’s a recap of the A Night in the Wild Tour with Sarah Jakes Roberts. The time leading up to head to Atlanta was a blur. I was rushing to finish at work, leave in enough time to get home, get changed, slap some makeup on, and meet the troop so we could hit the road!

The Rush

Got home, quickly picked an outfit, threw all my makeup in my clear storage tote and pulled out the garage. I made it halfway to the meeting point, realized I forgot to put my contacts in, left my umbrella at the top of the stairs..AT HOME!!! It’s been raining 40 days and 40 nights here. I decided to blow my hair out the week of the great rain....so yeah, I would be a puff ball by the end of the night.

I was not discouraged, still in great spirits! Met my girls and we hit the road. Laughs and serious girl talk and we were there two hours early, so we thought. We stopped at Wendy’s, literally got heart burn eating so we would be on time, pull up to the venue and PANDEMONIUM! How are you late two hours early? The women of God, was in great expectation!

We started looking around and the parking lot already full, groves of women lined up waiting for the doors to open! We were all there for one reason, impartation and it was nothing short of amazing!

The Night

From the graphics to the worship team, the musicians, the Word, spirit of excellence around!  Listen, the graphics were ahhhmazing, yes I am a tiger! Yes, I am WILD!!! Then enters the woman who has managed to bring 3,600 women together representing so effortlessly for the Kingdom and the culture, Sarah Jakes Roberts. There were so many facets to the night, that I can’t began to recount them all so I’m just going to share a few nuggets that captivated my spiritual ears.

If you’re anything like me, the book of Revelation isn’t necessarily the Book of the Bible where I go naturally. I remember when I was younger my sister, cousin, and I decided that we would read Revelation, and listen, I don’t know what we were thinking but it scared us right on up, (LOL). I digress, the Word for the night was taken from Revelation 12:13-17.

Pastor Sarah has a way of making the Word come off the pages and right into your heart. Most of us know the Word, but fail with the application that’s necessary to see the Word manifested in our lives. So here is a few thoughts from Pastor Sarah and how I believe we can use practical application to activate the wings of the womant in Revelation.

"You can’t ask God to bless your purpose while holding on to what is not."

On the quest to discovering our purpose and destiny, there are obstacles that will present themselves to get us off focus. We can't actively pursue purpose and pain. The pain from people, things, situations that have caused us to be stagnate. We hold on to pain because its familiar. Letting go requires for us to create a new normal. This has caused us to loose the passion for the things of God and what He's calling us to. We must release pain so that God can bless our purpose.

"When your life comes into alignment, you have authority"

I have discussed accessing our power in a previous post, so I won't spend a lot of time here. This is confirmation to us, you can't have power without Him. Walking in alignment with the will of God for your life, means accessing the authority, the power He's already given. Speaking over your life in a way the breeds manifestation. "I use my mouth to speak specifically what God has spoken over my life," stated by Sarah Jakes Roberts. This confirms that a lot of what we don't see, is simply because we're not making a demand with our mouths. There is power of life and death in our tongues. What are you speaking? Are you speaking what you see, or what you believe to be through faith?

I Am Soil

I had never heard this quite like this before, I am soil! In the scripture, Satan still continue to persecute the woman even after her seed was no longer visible. He continued to persecute her because she still had life in her! Though her seed was with God, she still had the ability to yield more fruit because she is soil, I am soil, you are soil! This simply means even when you feel overwhelmed and outnumbered by the enemy, he continues to chase you to distract you. Because He understands, even if you don't, that you still have the power, that you are the plug, connected to the Source!!

We often get discouraged when things don't quite happen the way we envisioned, instead of adapting the mindset that all things work together for our good! This is great news! So when you feel that you've lost your seed, remember you are still good soil, that has the ability to germinate any seed planted!

If ever given the opportunity to hear Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts, get ready to be empowered!
