When Life Happens…Yes God.

Welcome. Welcome into 2025. How are you doing? Are you maintaining, surviving, thriving, or surviving?? Or all three?? Or it varies from day to day. I want to tell you that its ok. I’m not sure what I expected this year to be or bring. But I can definitely say, not this exactly. It looks different. It feels different. I’m moving different.

There’s a sense of certainty, mixed with uncertainty and the unknown with the known. Seems like a juxtaposition. But I believe, that’s life. I know what I feel, but what does God say? What does the Word say? When life happens, Yes God.

The realization that our “Yes God,” is not contingent upon the ideal circumstances, not on people doing and saying the right things, society and uncertainty of this world. Our “Yes God,” has to be sound, assured and resolute even when nothing around us is. I don’t say that lightly because I understand that when life happens, we want to retract that “Yes God.”

I’d like to give an example, one of our fathers in the faith, Isaac. Isaac thought he was going on a trip with his father, Abraham. I imagine him justa skipping and enjoying his father-son outing to make a sacrifice to God. When he soon realizes, he sees wood and fire…but then notices, they’re missing an important factor…THE SACRIFCE! Unbeknownst to him…he was the planned sacrifice. We thank God for the ram in the bush. There’s a ram for us too! He was definitely a part of a “Yes God” declaration that he was not aware of. Very much me, very much a living sacrifice. *READ Genesis 22*

The “Yes God” in this season is hitting a little different. There has been and will remain challenges and things we will overcome. But let’s be real, some seasons are just more challenging than others. And this season is challenging.

So. I implore you to lean in closer to God. Spend more time with Him this season and the seasons to come. We’re going to need Him. You’re going to need Him. There is no way it can be done without Him. Continue to give Him your resounding “Yes God.” Knowing that you are not alone, with Hebrews 12 at the forefront of your heart and mind.

Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us. Hebrews 12: 1

Our “Yes God,” is more about relinquishing control and expectations of what was, what is and what we envisioned it to be. I realize now as I’m writing this blog, that this “Yes God” season is more tender because I feel completely out of control of my life. I have no control of the outcome. I have to trust completely in God and His will for my life. I encourage you to trust totally and completely in God. Our desire to control certain situations can contaminate our “Yes God” …I hope that makes sense. Attempting to control our lives on our own is overwhelming and breeds so much anxiety. So today, I choose to let go and lean into my “Yes God.”

Today, choose to let go and lean into your “Yes God.” We’re in this together. Continue to pray for me as I continue praying for you. Keep Becoming!
