#BreakingtheBias

Well…Hello…Happy New Year! It’s good to see you. I pray that you have been well and that 2022 has been off to a momentous start. I know for me, it has been the fastest almost three months I can remember. We are literally three months in this year and I feel a little bamboozled!lol Like how did we get there.

If 2022 has started a little like, hol’lup, God what we doing??? Be encouraged, you are not alone. I am standing with you, and I can promise you, that if you look around, you have a tribe of supporters standing with you!

I wanted to come to encourage you that as we began to close out International Women’s Month, that you are moving, operating and cultivating the best version of yourself. That you take the next few weeks to really reflect, and maybe even pivot to ensure that you’re BECOMING IN THIS SEASON OF YOUR LIFE.

If you’ve been here for a while, then you know the entire catalyst of this platform…is becoming. And if you’re new, welcome to becoming. We welcome ever part of you…without judgement. We’re all just continuously evolving to become the best versions of ourselves. We know that’s not easy. Becoming requires you let go of what you thought and do something different. If nothing CHANGES, nothing CHANGES.

OPPORTUNITIES TO BECOME

So for a moment, I just want to share a “BECOMING” experience of speaking with the young women at my old high school. Last year, I had a strong desire to go back to my high school to speak to the young girls in hopes of helping them navigate and make better decisions and choices than I did at their age. You know those moments where you wish you knew then, what you know now. I want to pour into our girls to help them better transition into this thing call life. For them to be more confident, more sure of themselves, where they know who they are and Who’s they are so that they aren’t struggling with 18 year old issues at 35. Does that make sense?

Well, I had been pondering on how to make this happen when my God opened up a door through my nephew. What I initially thought would take a few months to start, God push that thing into turbo speed and I was officially extended an offer to speak in less than 2 weeks. So here we go, hol’lup God, what we doing? I needed a few more months to get this thing popping!lol

But God already knew the harvest is plentous…So He sent me in! Desiring to do something and God moving in such an expeditious way is truly amazing.

BREAKING THE BIAS

If you’ve been on social media in March, I’m sure you’ve seen the campaigning and posts about #breakingthebias and International Women’s Month. I spoke with these young women about breaking the biases in their lives, whether it be a family, social, mental or emotional biases. Biases are those things that have been set in place to make us think we are not worthy of better, that we do not deserve the best, that we will never be more and go further than we’ve seen.

I declared to them that they were created to remove the caps and break the biases over their lives. That they are not their mothers, fathers or environments; that they can in fact, can do something completely different. That they were created to break generational curses and crash ceilings in their lives and encourage others around them to do the same.

I want to serve you that same reminder. If this year didn’t start quite how you envisioned and it’s looking a little 2020-ish, you still have time to crush some areas in your lives. You still have everything you need for this year to be what it needs to be for your purpose. We’re just three months in…don’t give up!

This is just a gentle reminder to break those things off your life that has you stuck, that has your mind wondering and worrying. The first way to break the bias is to CHANGE YOUR MIND, CHANGE YOUR PERSPECTIVE.

For the rest of the month, I want you to sit down, reflect and redirect your energy on where you’re going, not where you’ve been. We’ve got places to go!
